About
Forestyas is a field atlas of the world's forests, built entirely on open data.
For each place we measure the land cover around it on the European Space Agency's 10-metre WorldCover map, ring by ring up to 10 km; we count the plants, fungi, birds and mammals recorded around it in open records on GBIF (only those licensed for any use); and we read the weather month by month from NASA.
Forests are living places: stay on the paths, take your rubbish home, never light fires, and respect fire-risk closures.
